Ukweli Africa Pays Tribute to Anna Reismann for Her Outstanding Support to Journalism and Mental Wellness

Ukweli Africa extends its sincere appreciation to Anna Reismann, the outgoing Country Director of KAS Uganda and South Sudan for her invaluable contribution to strengthening journalism professionalism and championing mental wellness among journalists in Uganda.
Throughout her tenure, Anna has been a steadfast partner in supporting initiatives that promote ethical journalism, media development, and the well-being of media practitioners. Her leadership and commitment have helped create opportunities for journalists to enhance their skills, navigate professional challenges, and engage in critical conversations around mental health within the media industry. Through collaborations with Ukweli Africa and other media stakeholders, KAS Uganda and South Sudan have played a significant role in fostering safer, more resilient, and professional journalism. The support provided under Anna’s leadership has contributed to building a stronger media ecosystem that prioritizes both excellence in reporting and the welfare of journalists.
Speaking during a brief appreciation ceremony, Ukweli Africa Team Lead, Godfrey Badebye, commended Anna for her dedication, partnership, and unwavering support towards the organization’s mission.

“As an organization committed to advancing quality journalism and journalist wellbeing, we are grateful for the partnership and support we have received under Anna’s leadership. Her contribution has left a lasting mark on our work and on the journalists we serve,” he noted.

As a token of appreciation, Badebye presented Anna with a special gift on behalf of the Ukweli Africa team, recognizing her commitment to promoting journalism professionalism and mental wellness initiatives.

While Anna concludes her chapter as Country Director, her impact on Uganda’s media landscape and the many journalists whose lives and careers have been touched through her work will continue to be felt for years to come.
